Background
Devon is a character in the VtM LARP Broken Playground. One of the original neonates who awoke in the basement of a New Orleans Mansion, she doesn't recall anything of her embrace or how she and the others came to be in the basement during Hurricane Katrina. She hopes to meet her sire some day so that she can smack him around.
History
Born and raised in the most boring neighborhood in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Devon moved to New Orleans in 1997. Rebellious and antisocial even in adolescence, she still managed to graduate high school with a decent GPA and a scholarship for her artwork. She moved to Louisiana to attend the New Orleans School of Art. Two years into the program, her adviser suggested that Devon should drop out, telling her she lacked the social and organizational skills needed to complete the coursework. Angry, but not discouraged, she bought a fixer-upper on 2 acres at a great price out west of the city. She settled in with her cat, Lucifer, and her dog, Goober, and began turning out metal sculptures in the large shop on the property. The sculptures sold fairly well. She spent time with the local independent art crowd only as much as necessary to get her work seen by the public. The rest of her time was spent hanging out at biker bars frequented by the Heathens, a Louisiana based outlaw motorcycle club.
Unlife
Devon adapted fairly quickly to her new circumstances, especially to hunting. She accidentally killed the first couple guys she fed from, but soon learned to use restraint. Fortunately, getting rid of bodies was pretty easy with all the swamps around. The hurricane and subsequent flooding not only left her house badly damaged, but caused a drop in her income. Daisy, a fellow kindred, allowed her to work at her club, the Albino Alligator, as a Dominatrix. Not only was the extra money helpful in getting her place repaired, but she soon found she really enjoyed the work.
A frenzy during a combat with the invading Texans left Devon with furry 'hackles' on her neck and back, which stand up when she's angry or threatened. She can be moody and unforgiving. At times she is opinionated, but more often she is simply abrasive. While some of her fellow kindred rub her the wrong way, she appears to be friendly with members of the Heavy Metal band, Bragge. She and Mohammad, who has connections to the Cripps, spent some time together in what seemed to be some sort of illicit "arrangement." There's been some gossip, but only the two of them know what happened for sure.
No one was more surprised than Devan when she was appointed Keeper of Elysium by Prince Stone Ox. She feels a bit awkward in the role, but tries to do a good job. Devon can be impatient, but is quick to volunteer when needed. In general though, she prefers to do the things she enjoyed in her human life: hanging out with her "Bro"s and working in her shop.
